CosDNA.com is a skincare product and ingredient database. Users can submit products and ingredients to CosDNA for review. Each product is evaluated by ingredient, UV, acne, irritant, and safety. Comedogenic/acne, irritation, and safety are rated on a scale from 1-9. The lower the number, the less chance it will irritate the skin.
Living with a chronic inflammatory skin disease called eczema for the majority of my life and having friends who struggle with acne, psoriasis, and scarring— I know finding the right skincare products can be a frustrating experience. For this project, I recognized that CosDNA contains a lot of useful information but looks dated and lacks a sense of identity and trustworthiness. By redesigning the CosDNA website I present a distinct visual identity and an improved user experience.
Everyone’s Skin is Unique
Skin Sailor is a website born from the universal understanding that
everyone’s skin is unique to themselves and as a result, finding the right
skincare products should reflect that sentiment.
